Animal Camp Jamaica is a new summer adventure being offered by the owners of Cub Creek Science Camp (Scott and Lori Martin). The Martin's have vacationed in Jamaica for many years and are thrilled to be able to share the fun they have on the island with others. During the summer of 2015, Animal Camp Jamaica will be offered in tfour separate sessions. Each session will serve twelve campers and have three live-in staff.
Delicious meals will be prepared fresh daily by Tina and Brenda who work full time for Seven Palms Villa. Because of the small group size meal accommodations are usually no problem.
While in Jamaica, the group will live at Seven Palms Villa. Seven Palms is the Martin family's home away from home. This villa offers five guest bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom, a two-acre yard and beautiful swimming pool. The villa is just a short walk to the Runaway Bay Beach. This beach and our own private beach will be visited daily for lessons in marine biology.
Animal Camp Jamaica is supervised by three experienced camp staff. Staff travel with the camper between the United States and Missouri. All staff have past experience working for Cub Creek, have had full background checks, and are certified lifeguards. In addition, Seven Palms has five staff; two cooks/housekeepers, 2 gardeners, and a driver who drives the van each day for our afternoon outings.
Each morning participants will enjoy a guided snorkeling adventure while they learn about the life in and around a Jamaican coral reef. During this same time, participants will have the option of taking a scuba course and receiving their PADI open water dive certification.
Scott and Lori Martin are the Owners and Directors of Cub Creek Science Camp. Their family has enjoyed the island of Jamaica for over 20 years. It's their desire to share their love of the island and the ocean with others through this program. You can be assured of the same level of safety and attention to detail has been put into the planning of this program as is put into Cub Creek Science Camp every year for the past 22 years. In fact, it is their daughter, Mikayla, who is one of the program chaperones and leaders of Animal Camp Jamaica.
